Tradition has it that during the month of May, the SS. Crucifix Maddalena is transported along the main streets of the city, so that the faithful could worship and celebrate with prayers and songs. From remember are holidays of May 1886, when Julius Bernardini, with the help of neo Mayor Franco Sainati, propose to make the river navigable Pescia and organize races. Despite almost the entire population was sceptical one week before the festivities began in May work at the dam Ponte del Duomo.
