The urban structure of Monaco remained the medieval walls with the old port still well preserved. The country was founded by Charles IV of Bohemia in 1333, stands on a hill isolated to a height of 163 m above sea level The characteristic monuments in the Old Town are the Fortress, the Collegiate Church of St. Andrew, the Teatro Comunale of Rassicurati el'antichissima Pieve di San Piero in Campo. The surrounding area is mostly cultivated with olive trees and vines, in fact over the wonderful position and the interesting history Monaco is known for its renowned goodness of wine and oil.
